The Truth about

So maybe you’re a addict. Or maybe you’re just starting to think about buying a home in Toronto. You probably already know that can be painful to use. Here’s what you probably don’t know:

  • There are limited search functions on – a real estate agent can send you just the listings you want to see
  • The newest listings are NOT on There is a delay between when Realtors have access to a listing (the instant it’s been loaded) and when they become public on One of our favourite strategies is to take advantage of this by making an offer on a place before the general public has a chance to see it on
  • isn’t up to date – many of the properties that appear on the site are in fact already sold (or sold conditionally).
  • There is incomplete listing info on For example, the public listings don’t include: Property taxes, the number of days the property has been on the market, what’s included in condo fees (hydro, heat, cable TV, etc.),  the Seller’s ideal possession date, restrictions on pets for condos, approximate size and exposure of the property (north, south, east, west)…among other things.

If you’re interested in a more comfortable, more custom, more user-friendly way of keeping on top of the market, consider getting new listings automatically e-mailed to you. Send me an email at and I'll hook you up!
